She Held His Heart
Rich in texture and symbolism, She Held His Heart evokes the fragile beauty of love and surrender — a suspended truth between holding on and letting go … all expressed on an upcycled pizza box.
Part of my ongoing Attachment Series, it reflects the moment when connection becomes weight — when care and control meet in delicate balance.
She Held His Heart combines layered plaster, pigment, and mixed materials to form a striking emotional landscape. Deep red tones bleed into textured grays and blacks, while a small suspended sphere hangs from above — at once heart, burden, and offering.
The piece captures the tension between strength and vulnerability, love and dependence. The rough textures mirror the emotional grit of intimacy, while the soft patina of the hanging form suggests compassion and endurance.
Created from textured acrylic paint, this contemporary piece embodies the handmade physicality of feeling — tactile, raw, and human. It serves as both statement and meditation piece, ideal for contemporary interiors or collectors drawn to deeply personal, narrative-based art.
Each work is one-of-a-kind, signed by Ned Albright, and part of the Attachment Series, which explores how emotional weight, love, and identity are intertwined through material and memory.
